PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Releases New Xbox One Patch

Loot boxes! More loot boxes ! Locked loot boxes! Selling loot boxes! Cheating for loot boxes! This has been the story of **PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds ** for a few months since developer PUBG Corp (a division of Bluehole) has slowed down on making their flagship game bet

Content aside, the plan in 2018 is also to improve the shooter experience with adjustments to the sounds of vehicles, weapons, and movement – even changing the sound of breathing while performing or recovering from different actions. Animations, parachuting, and bullet penetration are also facets of PUBG being worked on for improveme

Nonetheless, this latest iteration of Counter-Strike has not been without its issues over the years, and one noticeable problem is the use of item trading. Trading in CS: GO is effectively a mini-economy in its own right, with some players cashing in on earned skins for big payoffs, while there are ongoing concerns over the use of skins as a virtual currency for online gambling. Eventually, Valve decided enough was enough and has implemented changes, with a recently-traded item now stuck in a seven day cool down before it can be moved on ag

The PUBG Corporation’s lawsuit reveals that the company first acted against NetEase on January 24th, when PUBG Corp filed a complaint with Apple over the clone titles being available on the App Store. Although it is unknown whether PUBG Corporation asked for the games to be delisted, Apple forwarded the complaint to NetEase, who responded by denying that their titles infringed on the PUBG Tips Corporation’s rights. Evidently, the PUBG Corporation now feels confident enough that they do to take NetEase to court over the matter. This is not the first time NetEase has been involved with a clone title; the company announced FortCraft , a game which looks suspiciously similar to Fortnite , although no legal action has yet been taken against them for that ti

“You’ve heard us talk about open development a few times, but what does that really mean? For Codename: Savage it means we’re going to be building the map as you guys play it. We have months of work left to do; beyond refining the experience and making changes that impact balance, we also plan to add new vehicles, new weapons, and most exciting in our eyes are the new areas that we think will set this map apart from our first t

In an interview with Eurogamer , Greene stated that there is no reason a player should die in the red zone. Greene also conveyed confidence in the reason for the zone’s in-game existence, which has endured some pushback from some of the PUBG community’s louder voi

Greene continued to state that although the red zone serves a purpose, the decision on whether or not to remove it from the game – as with all other in-game features – will ultimately come down to the collaborative efforts between the community and the development t

The team at Bluehole and PUBG Corp. will ultimately make the final decisions as to what will make PUBG the best game that it can be. However, it is refreshing to hear that the game’s leadership and development team take community feedback to heart, especially as the game continues to build itself out since exiting Early Access late last year, and announcing its 2018 roadmap last mon

The battle royale formula was not entirely the brainchild of the PUBG Corporation – PUBG itself certainly derived content from pre-existing games – but since its success, there has been a trend of other developers copying the PUBG model. The PUBG Corporation has been openly critical of titles like Fortnite in the past for seeming to be copying their formula, but the company has never fought so strongly against another title as they are now with this lawsuit against NetE

How did this happen? Surely, you took note of the mini-map that showed your icon embedded within the red transparent circle, and heeded the warning of the on-screen notification stating the red zone would be starting soon. Obviously, you took note of the “Warning! Red zone has started!” message, and took shelter within the nearest building. No? You didn’t try to avoid the red zone at all? It may be time to rethink your strategy; a sentiment shared by Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds lead designer and director, Brendan Gre

At any rate, for those hoping that the red zone is going away any time soon, you may just want to start heeding the on-screen warnings a little better…or, maybe, just avoid being anywhere near the red zone altoget

More importantly though, PUBG is finally getting a map selection, easily the most requested feature ever since the PC version got the Miramar map. The Xbox One version currently only has the original Erangel map but is getting Miramar next month. Details on how the map selector works and why it took so long can be found here . It’s still being developed but is nearly complete so there’s no time frame

Unfortunately, Greene wouldn’t say anything regarding actual details, nor would he reveal any of the new weapons, potential modes or vehicles coming to the game. The update didn’t talk about the Xbox version of the game or loot boxes either, but it did offer some examples of aesthetic changes coming to existing assets – improving the look and level of detail on buildings. The biggest reveal however (the only real reveal) is that of a smaller, 4x4km island map designed to offer players a quicker battle royale experie
