Rekha’s Story
A Note from Rekha
Hello — I’m glad you’re here.
“I want every patient to leave feeling heard, cared for, and genuinely better — not just treated.”
Thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about me. If you’re considering an aesthetic treatment — whether for the first time or after years of with other clinics — I know that choosing the right person matters enormously. I’d like to tell you honestly who I am and how I work.
I qualified as a doctor from Manchester Medical School in 1989, and I spent the first part of my career in NHS hospitals and General Practice. I loved that work. It taught me to listen properly, to think carefully before acting, and to always put the patient — not the treatment — at the centre of the consultation. Those habits have never left me.
My move into aesthetic medicine was not purely academic — it was deeply personal. For years, I managed my own acne rosacea through conventional routes, and for years, I was only partially with the results. Rosacea is one of those conditions that medicine tends to manage rather than resolve, and I knew, as a doctor, that there had to be more that could be done. When I began exploring what laser treatments and cosmeceutical skincare could achieve — not just mask, but correct at a cellular level — I was both astonished and energised. I attended teaching hospitals in London to observe and learn, and I immersed myself in the science behind skin health in a way that general practice had never quite allowed. What struck me most was the profound effect that clearer skin had on my patients’ confidence and sense of self. That connection skin health and emotional wellbeing has remained at the heart of my practice ever since. I now help many patients with rosacea, pigmentation, acne, scarring and ageing — not because it is a service I offer, but because I genuinely understand what it feels like to be on their side of the consultation.
My husband — a surgeon — accompanied me to many of those early conferences and training meetings. He once remarked how remarkable it was, what could be achieved with such precision and subtlety. I have never forgotten that observation.
In 2005 I began seeing a small number of aesthetic patients alongside my GP work. By 2008 the practice had grown to the point where it — and demanded — my full attention. I opened Health & Aesthetics that year, and I have never looked back.
What drives me, still, is the same thing that drove me into medicine in the first place: the chance to genuinely help someone feel better about themselves. Aesthetics done well is not vanity. It is confidence, wellbeing, and the quiet pleasure of looking in the mirror and feeling like yourself again.

How I Work
My to your care
The first thing I want to know when a patient comes to see me is not what treatment they want — it is what is them, and why. That distinction matters. Someone who comes in asking for filler may actually need advice about skin quality. A proper medical consultation opens up those possibilities. A menu-driven closes them down.
I take time with every patient. I am not a high-volume clinic and I have no interest in becoming one. What I can offer is genuine attention: the kind of careful, considered assessment that comes from decades of clinical practice, combined with a real understanding of aesthetic medicine and what it can — and cannot — achieve.
I will always be honest with you about what I think a treatment will and will not do. If I believe something is not right for you, I will say so. I would rather lose a than do something that isn’t in your best interest. That is simply how I was trained to practise medicine, and it is how I always will.
I am also deeply committed to safety in all its forms — the products I use, how I use them, and how I manage the rare occasions when things don’t go as planned. Complications in aesthetic medicine do happen, even in the best hands. What matters is that your practitioner is trained to recognise and manage them. As a fully qualified doctor with decades of clinical experience, I am.
What Doctor-Led Really Means
Your safety is not a marketing line
The aesthetics industry uses the phrase “doctor-led” quite freely. I want to be specific about what it means at Health & Aesthetics — because specifics are what protect you.
— New patients are seen by me — personally, and properly
Before a treatment plan is agreed, you will have a thorough, face-to-face medical consultation. A real clinical assessment, conducted by a doctor who takes the time to understand your concerns, your medical history, and your goals. This is the foundation of everything we do, and it is .
— All injectables are prescribed and by me
Botulinum toxin and many other are prescription-only medicines. They must be prescribed by a doctor. I prescribe and administer all such treatments personally, or under my direct clinical oversight.
— I use only licensed, traceable products
Every product used at Health & Aesthetics is licensed for use in the UK, sourced from authorised supply chains, and traceable by batch number. I am happy to show you the box. Please always ask — at any clinic.
— You will never be rushed or pressured
New patients are not treated on the same day as their consultation. You will always have time to reflect, ask questions, and decide — or change your mind entirely. There is no here, ever.
— Informed consent is taken seriously
Before any procedure, we discuss the risks, the realistic outcomes, the alternatives, and the limitations. Written consent is always obtained. If you don’t fully understand what you’re agreeing to, we are not done talking.
— I am here if anything goes wrong
Complications are rare, but they can happen. What matters is that your practitioner is medically trained to recognise and manage them. I am. I am to all my patients after treatment, and I take aftercare seriously.
Our Standards
What you will never find here
In a market where standards vary enormously, I think it is worth being direct about what we simply will not do — regardless of the circumstances.
We will NOT –
Awards & Recognition
Recognised nationally for clinical excellence
Health & Aesthetics is a and has received awards from multiple independent industry bodies — recognition spanning clinical standards, patient experience, team excellence, and practice quality. These awards are assessed by panels of experts, not self-nominated or purchased, and they cover every dimension of what a good clinic should be.
Winning once is encouraging. Being recognised repeatedly, across different award bodies and different categories, tells a more meaningful story: that the here are not occasional — they are embedded.
Our most recent recognition is the ZO Skin Health Blue Diamond Award 2026, the highest tier in ZO’s clinical programme, awarded for sustained excellence in patient and skin health . We are proud to hold it, and prouder still of the patient results that earned it.
