Thank you Riot and all that is good above for finally making Warwick’s ultimate a skill shot. There was nothing more obnoxious than when he was able to unilaterally decide: you’re not allowed to play, you are going to take a bunch of damage, I am going to gain a lot of health, and you will like everything about this. He is still very much built around that decision, but at least you have a chance of dodging it. Though that is easier said than done, because unless he completely messes up, the only way you will dodge his ultimate is with your flash and you only get one of those every five minutes. He still has an obnoxious amount of life steal, especially when low hea
Let’s address the rumor first: It was reported by the Daily Dot and others earlier this month that ESL, one of the largest eSports organizations, might be partnering with Twitch and fantasy eSports website Vulcun to create a tournament on par with League of Legends League Championship Seri
But again, it’s something that harkens back to the series’ PC roots. Whether or not games are ‘getting easier’ is not for me to say, but it’s undeniable that, once upon a time, PC games demanded a lot more trial-and-error on the part of the player. Setting my attackers to train in a forceful manner, my midfield in a passing-based manner, and my defenders to train in a manner that would have made a fisherman proud, I finally reached my first proper ma
Last month, word broke that Microsoft had canceled a reboot of Phantom Dust , which was being developed by Darkside Games. The reboot was meant to revive the cult classic from the original Xbox, and while Darkside Games is no longer working on it, Microsoft says it still plans to release the game at some point for Xbox One. Microsoft didn’t provide a reason for cancelling the project, or when they envision the game will rele
It’s no secret that Valve’s annual The International competition is one of the biggest events in eSports. 20 million viewers can’t be wrong . Valve has slowly but surely built up the world championship for Dota 2 into an annual spectacle with a prize pool worth millions of dollars. With that said, Dota 2 arguably doesn’t have that big of a footprint the rest of the year, at least compared to some other eSports titles. For example, Blizzard’s Starcraft II and Riot’s League of Legends hold multiple regional events every year ahead of each game’s world championship that get a lot of attention. Dota 2 tournaments not named The International are out there, but usually don’t generate as much interest as the main ev
We’ll be interested to see if Wales Interactive releases the game during the fall, when we expect many major titles to launch, or if the developer will opt for a release date when things are a little quie
Broken Age Act 2 will be released in the U.S. on April 28, 2015, and April 29 in Europe. According to developer Double Fine Productions, Act 2 will be free to any PC gamers who already own Act 1 . See, for me, sports are always best when they rely solely on an individual. You get to see the pain, the torment, the years-of-training, all build up to this one final event and, if they succeed, it’s a happiness that is unparalleled. Soccer is a team game — if you mess up, who cares? You’ve got ten other people to look after
That being said, in its own unique way, Legend of Solgard’ s mid-core style of moba game dlc design is considerably more palatable than other mobile games. The gameplay loop is repeatedly made satisfying by its own rich complexity; the kind of casual challenge that could only come from a mobile title. The more I play Legend of Solgard and ponder the strengths and weakness of my characters, the different varieties of enemies, and different combinations I have at my disposal, the more I get sucked into it. Despite appearing to an outsider as a simple match-three puzzle game, Legend of Solgard contains the ripe intricacy of a four-dimensional game of chess. Not only do players have to strategically maneuver their factions to attack and defend against their enemy counterparts, they constantly have to focus on the metagame. As each character has its own distinct special ability, the game forces you to contemplate which characters you should utilize during each turn and (later on) which characters you should bring into each fight in gene
Albert Hailey III : Heroes of the Dorm is unique. In the HGC (Heroes Global Championship), they have that competitive mindset; they want to play at the highest level and for the prize pool. In Heroes of the Dorm , they are people who just love the game while they are also going to coll
There was a time, when video game culture was still in its infancy, where it seemed every morning talk show had a segment about being appalled at video game violence. The platform was still not well understood, especially by those who had no interest in engaging in playing video games. Naturally, many mothers and political groups assumed that the violent themes and images in video games would encourage violent tendencies in those who played them. Their premise was ridiculous and repeatedly proven to be unfounded, but I think that is because they were looking at it the wrong way. It is not violent themes that encouraged hatred, the culprits were frustrating design and multiplayer-versus. There is a consensus on what the most toxic video game communities are. Something you’ll notice is that almost all these communities are multiplayer team game focused and League of Legends is somewhere on everybody’s l
