A Guide to Harmony XL PRO Treatments

By Mary Basiadima, 30 August 2022

Which treatments are at London Premier Laser Clinic?

laser skin resurfacing (scarring & stretch marks) post surgery Ablative Fractional Laser

IPIXEL from Harmony is one of the most advanced skin rejuvenation treatments on the market. It works by using ablative lasers to resolve skin texture problems, such as fine lines, pitted scarring, thickened skin, enlarged pores, acne bumps and stretch marks.

This process creates tiny ablative dots on the skin, removing the upper dermis and epidermis layers whilst leaving the untreated regions unaffected. The untreated regions surrounding the ablative zones then start to produce collagen and new skin cells to heal the ablative zones, promoting skin rejuvenation and an improvement in skin . By stimulating your skin’s natural healing mechanisms, PIXEL allows for a very natural look, and is a alternative for injectables.

IPIXEL is suitable for skin types 1-5 and is gentle enough to treat all areas of the body, including very sensitive areas around the eyes, neck, chest and hands. This is an extremely safe and effective solution to combat uneven skin texture and scarring

You can see up to a 20% improvement after a single session, however, please note that 2 weeks of downtime is needed for the skin to fully heal.

XL Pro  (Eyes & Neck) Tattoo Fractional Q-switch Laser

Clearlift Harmony XL Pro uses Q-switch ND-YAG laser, which is able to remove unwanted tattoos more safely by reducing the risk of scarring and skin (Hypopigmentation and Hyperpigmentation). It is suitable for skin types 1-6, and with the new tips, we are able to better target and remove a broader range of ink colours.

During laser tattoo removal, the tattoo pigment is shattered by heating it to very high temperatures, yet traditionally, high temperatures can increase the risk of scarring the skin. With Q-switch, we are able to obtain high pulses from a laser that only last for a nanosecond to rapidly heat and shatter the tattoo pigment, thus decreasing the risk of scarring

– Dye-vl / SR deeper pigmentation

Harmony Dye-vl incorporates Advanced Fluorescent Technology (AFT) with IPL to treat a multitude of cutaneous vascular lesions, including:

And other hyperpigmentation related such as:

In addition, this is also a very popular used for skin rejuvenation to increase collagen and elastin production, giving your skin a youthful radiance whilst combatting the signs of ageing.

This treatment works by using IPL to target and heat the haemoglobin for veins and redness, or alternatively by targeting melanin for . It damages the blood vessels, or pigmented lesions, causing the body’s natural healing mechanism to kick in which results in an improvement to skin tone.

During the treatment a cooling handpiece is used to minimise discomfort. It may take some time for the body to filter out the destroyed haemoglobin or pigmented lesions so please be patient for results to start .

Pro is an innovative piece of technology that combines non-ablative laser, vacuum technology, and contact cooling in order to treat all forms of active acne effectively, whilst also achieving a gentle rejuvenating effect and reducing the appearance of acne scars.

To better understand the treatment process, it is important to first understand the and bacterial pathways through which acne is formed.

Hormonal:

Androgen is the most important of all hormones in regulating sebum production. During puberty, androgen levels leading to follicular keratinization, increased sebum production, and pore blockage. This gives rise to a perfect anaerobic (meaning without oxygen) environment for bacteria to grow, causing acne.

Bacterial:

The bacteria called P.acnes plays a massive role in acne development. P.acnes infects the sebaceous gland where there is an anaerobic environment for them to survive, causing inflammation of the area.

The non-ablative laser penetrates the skin causing thermal damage to the subcutaneous glands where sebum is being produced. It destroys P.acnes bacteria by targeting porphyrins and creating a more aerobic environment where P.acnes cannot thrive as . It also reduces sebum production by targeting gland blood vessels to reduce pore blockage and bacterial formation

The integrated vacuum extracts excess accumulated sebaceous from the pores, whilst the contact cooling protects the skin, minimises discomfort, and allows for a safer and more effective treatment of the sebaceous glands within the dermis.

NIR Radiofrequency

Near Infrared uses high powered light in the spectrum to heat sub-dermal tissue without damaging the epidermis layer of the skin. NIR treatments are powered by a LED which has a gentler delivery than laser and will not damage but only heat sub-dermal tissue. The targeted Infrared energy causes collagen fibres to contract and tighten and kickstarts cellular repair as well as collagen and elastin production

As there is no damage to the epidermis layer of the skin, there is essentially no downtime, and a built in cooling system plus cooling gel is used for your comfort

ClearVein

ClearVein uses Long-pulsed ND:YAG laser to treat vascular lesions, which include but aren’t limited to:

The advantage of using Long pulse duration is that it effectively treats deep veins whilst avoiding superficial damage to surrounding areas. Long pulsed ND:YAG laser is more easily by oxyhaemoglobin and haemoglobin than melanin, allowing the destruction of blood vessels without the risks of hypopigmentation (less pigmented areas).

The built in cooled tip reduces pain and preserves the epidermis, providing a treatment with very little downtime

Nail Fungus

Onychomycosis is a difficult to treat nail fungal infection, but Harmony XL PRO can provide a new treatment possibility to give clinically proven results. We are combining two laser technologies for the treatment of onychomycosis:

This requires a course of 3-4 treatments once every 2-3 weeks, plus a simple routine which our practitioners will guide you through and happily answer any questions you may have.

The benefits of the

Harmony XL Pro is an all in one machine offering a great deal of flexibility, being able to provide powerful solutions for:

It is ideal for those a treatment that is clinically proven to be effective and, most importantly, safe, with minimal downtime and without the surgical risk. Moreover, Harmony XL Pro is suitable for all skin types and offers longer lasting results with fewer treatment sessions than other laser solutions, proving its incredible efficacy for treating skin problems

The side of the Harmony XL Pro Laser

The side effects and downtime really does depend on the nature of the treatment and how your skin reacts.

For example, with Clearlift and ClearVein, there should virtually be no downtime needed, however with a more invasive treatment such as IPIXEL, 3 days may be needed for the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin to fully heal and scab before you can see a noticeable result in skin texture

Although this is a very brief introduction to the side-effects you might experience, our practitioners will give you an informed briefing about any potential side-effects and post-treatment care so that you can make an informed decision when deciding which is best for you.
