Cosmetic Surgery Payment Plans: Is Financing Available?
Posted on [post_date] [post_comments] [post_edit]

The cost of cosmetic surgery is one of the first practical questions most patients ask, and for many it determines whether the procedure is possible at all. The straightforward answer is that financing is available, and at Centre for Surgery we work with , an established UK medical finance provider, to offer payment plans that spread the cost over 12 to 60 months. This article sets out what is included in your quoted price, the payment methods we accept, how Chrysalis financing works in practice, and what to look out for when comparing finance offers.
What Is Included in a Quoted Price at Centre for Surgery
Cosmetic surgery is priced as an inclusive package rather than as a series of separate fees. When you receive a written quote your consultation, the figure covers everything required to perform the procedure safely and to look after you through recovery. The price includes the surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist’s fee, use of our CQC-registered theatre and recovery facilities at , and all follow-up appointments needed to monitor your recovery. You will not receive a separate bill for theatre time, nursing, or aftercare visits. Prescribed medications and post-operative compression garments are not in the procedure price and are charged separately.
A consultation fee of £100 is payable separately at the point of booking the consultation (£250 for revision consultations). This is not refunded against the surgery cost but is a one-off charge for the surgeon’s time during the in-person assessment.
The procedure quote is specific to your case. Cosmetic surgery is not a fixed-price commodity — a quote, for example, depends on the implant type chosen (smooth round, anatomical, or hybrid with fat transfer), the performing the procedure, and any additional refinements discussed at consultation. For this reason, we provide indicative price ranges on our website but only issue a firm quote once you have been seen in person by a consultant plastic surgeon.
Payment Methods Accepted
We accept three principal payment methods.
Card payment in full. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted. Many patients who have saved for their procedure pay this way, either as a single payment or split across two cards. The is typically at least 14 days before the surgery date.
Bank transfer. BACS or Faster Payments transfers are accepted, with full payment cleared in our account at least 14 days before .
Chrysalis . Our partnered medical finance provider, for patients who prefer to spread the cost over a defined period rather than pay upfront.
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm any surgery booking. The balance is then due before the 14-day statutory cooling-off period closes.
Chrysalis Finance: How It Works
Chrysalis Finance is a specialist medical lender authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct . Their application process is built around medical procedures specifically, which means decisions are typically faster than with a general personal loan.
Chrysalis offers two products:
You can finance the full procedure cost or part of it. Some patients choose to pay a larger upfront deposit and finance the balance over a shorter term to minimise interest.
Applications can be completed online through Chrysalis directly, or by phone with their team. There is no fee for applying and no fee for being approved. The application takes around 10 minutes and a decision is usually returned within minutes.
If approved, Chrysalis pays Centre for Surgery directly once you confirm your surgery date. You then repay Chrysalis through a direct debit set up from your current account. There is no penalty for repaying the loan early.
To be eligible you must be over 18, a UK resident with at least three years of UK address history, in regular employment or with a verifiable income, and able to provide bank for the direct debit. Applicants without an established credit history can sometimes be approved with a — this is assessed case by case by Chrysalis.
Approval is not guaranteed and depends on a credit assessment carried out by Chrysalis. A declined from Chrysalis does not affect your ability to proceed with surgery using another method.
What to Look Out for When Comparing Finance Offers
Patients sometimes compare finance options from different clinics and find headline figures that look very different. A few things to check before comparing on monthly cost alone:
Representative APR vs your actual APR. “Representative APR” is the rate offered to at least 51% of accepted applicants. Your actual rate may be higher if your credit profile is weaker. Always read the loan agreement before signing.
Total amount repayable, not just payment. A longer loan term reduces your monthly payment but increases the total interest paid. A £6,000 procedure financed over 60 months will cost considerably more in total than the same loan over 24 months, even though the figure looks lower.
Early repayment terms. Chrysalis loans have no early repayment penalty, but some general credit products do. If you plan to clear the balance early, this matters.
What happens if the surgery is cancelled. If you cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period after your consultation, the finance agreement is cancelled in line with the loan agreement terms. Your deposit treatment is set out in our terms of — your patient coordinator will explain this at booking.
