Meet Destroy All Humans , a game that revolves around controlling an alien and blowing everything to smithereens. Buildings, people, cows, nothing is safe from Crypto. There is a story in each game, but it takes a backseat compared to the ludicrous amounts of fun the game lets you have. You can fling humans to walls, blow up skyscrapers, and use your flying saucer to take out armies of soldiers. The game doesn’t take itself too seriously, which helps with the fun factor. There is a remake for the original title that should release this year, so hopefully, that will generate enough interest to get this series back on people’s radars.
Reboots have become more common recently, bringing older titles to modern audiences with some tweaks and innovations to hold its own. This is usually done for more big-budget titles like Call of Duty , but underrated franchises that never got a large following would benefit greatly from this. Ranging from cult classics to more modern titles, here are 10 underrated franchises that need a reboot.
Nintendo revolutionized the platforming genre with every entry in the Super Mario series, either adding innovative features or refining mechanics . Rare had their own platformer called Banjo-Kazooie that was equally as impressive to play.
In an effort to create more Xbox console-exclusives, Microsoft has been on a spending spree of acquiring studios. Last year’s E3 saw Microsoft announce the acquisition of a number of studios, and we expect that trend to continue at E3 2019, especially with the news that Sony is also buying studios to bolster the PS5 first-party lineup. As for which studios Microsoft may announce it’s acquired at E3 2019, that’s less clear. The leaker that leaked the Microsoft E3 2019 press conference suggested that IO Interactive, Asobo, and Relic Entertainment are all potentially going to join Xbox Game Studios, but we’ll have to wait for E3 to be s
There has been no official word from Microsoft on their reason for not making mention of the title, despite the knowledge all over that it is indeed in the works. But what we can deduce for now is that they simply weren’t ready.
With the large amounts of video games releasing today, both from indie developers and AAA studios, not every game is destined to be a hit. Bad timing, underbaked mechanics, or unfulfilled promises can all result in a forgotten series.
Besides the eight horror games listed here, there are two other titles that should get a nod, though they don’t necessarily fall strictly into the “horror” genre. One is 12 Minutes , a game where a man is stuck in a time loop where he constantly has to relive his own death , and while it’s more of a thriller than a horror game, it definitely stood out as one of the more disturbing E3 2019 trail
Project Gotham Racing was a launch title for the original Xbox and earned a great deal of acclaim at the time of its release, spawning three sequels that all earned strong reviews as well. Project Gotham Racing 4 , the most recent entry in the series, also earned strong reviews from the Adventurejourneyhub blog critics and fans alike, but for one reason or another, Microsoft has abandoned the IP. Perhaps Microsoft made this decision so it could focus exclusively on Forza , but it would still be nice to see Project Gotham Racing make a comeback on the Xbox Series X. If nothing else, it would help give racing fans on Xbox some variety so that they have more than just new Forza games to look forward to every y
It remains to be seen exactly which games Microsoft will be showcasing at the July Xbox 20/20 event. However, there are plenty of great, dormant franchises that Microsoft could revive to generate some extra excitement for the Xbox Series X, with these 10 arguably having the most potent
Players took the role of Banjo with his bird friend Kazooie. Together, you venture out to stop the evil plans of Gruntilda, an evil witch who only wants to benefit herself. Jigsaw pieces and musical notes are needed to progress to new zones, encouraging exploration and interacting with the game’s charming characters. The latest entry in the series was a vehicle-building title rather than a platformer, resulting in many fans disliking the departure.
When Microsoft purchased Rare in 2002, expectations were high for the studio to continue its award-winning work on Xbox. Unfortunately, Rare has largely failed to live up to fan expectations since the Microsoft acquisition, failing to truly capitalize on the popularity of its beloved IP like Banjo-Kazooie . There hasn’t been a new Banjo-Kazooie game since 2008’s Nuts & Bolts , so platforming fans are hungry for a proper new entry in the series, especially after the titular duo were added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as DLC fighte
E3 2019 has come to a close, and as usual, the event featured a staggering number of games on display, including some promising horror games. With no new Capcom announcement as was rumored, the horror genre was a bit underrepresented compared to previous years, but there were still quite a few impressive horror titles at the s
